10 Principles of the Code of Ethics

What the GAPS Consultant DOES

  • Respect and protect privacy and confidentiality
  • Act in the best interest of the client
  • Refer to qualified professionals when necessary
  • Comply with local laws and regulations
  • Maintain secure client records
  • Continue professional development

What the GAPS Consultant DOES NOT Do

  • Act with conflicts of interest
  • Use titles misaligned with training
  • Make promises of curing or preventing diseases
  • Advise discontinuation of medications
  • Diagnose or treat diseases
  • Discriminate based on personal factors

Scope of Practice

Application of the Official GAPS Consulting Framework: client agreements, questionnaires, equipment checklists, pantry inspections, food sourcing guidance, cooking demonstrations, household product review, and progress tracking.
